We are looking for an Automation Process Engineer who excels at the following:

Line balancing, cycle time improvements, process improvements. Creating working instructions. Troubleshooting equipment & process issues on the line along with the maintenance team. Implementing any new equipment being installed on the line. Supporting the entire plant with all new & existing automation projects. PLC programming of weld fixture & stamping dies. Designing new automation systems from scratch. New electrical systems design. Integration of robots to PLCs (ABB, Motoman & Kuka). Developing Preventative Maintenance plans for all new automation equipment.

 

The Automation Process Engineer will work closely with Maintenance, Production, & Quality. They must be prepared to discuss safety issues/concerns with Associates and be able to work effectively with all Associates at all levels of the organization.

 

SPECIFIC  RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and encourage a safe work environment.
  • Follow ISO / QS 900 & TS16949 procedures.
  • Line balancing, cycle time studies & work instruction creation.
  • Resolve quality and process issues occurring in fabrication and assembly.
  • Automation lead for all new & existing automation projects.
  • Creation & execution of project timelines and budgets.
  • Ability to program & troubleshoot PLCs.
  • Ability to design & read wiring diagrams.
  • Develop preventative maintenance (PM) schedules for all new equipment.
  • Programming experience in MySQL, NoSQL, PHP & HTML is preferred but not necessary.
  • Experience with JDE or SAP is preferred but not necessary.
  • Work with Program Managers to ensure the successful launch and absorption of new programs.
  • Arrange for and work with outside sub-suppliers as required to launch, maintain or repair automated processes.
  • Utilize best practices in assignment planning to make the most efficient use of resources, time and material.
  • Work in compliance and conform to QMS, EMS and H&S standards, Policies, Objectives, Impact & Aspect and Hazard and Risks
  • Exercise independent judgement/decision making.
  • Take a methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Be prepared and willing to stop any unsafe equipment and/or processes
  • Follow policies and procedures set out by Company.

EDUCATION  REQUIRED

Post Secondary education in Engineering. Degree or Certificate or equivalent experience. 

EXPERIENCE  REQUIRED

2 – 5 years in a manufacturing environment , working in a similar capacity.

Knowledge and experience in PLC programming, robot programming, electrical systems design

Knowledge and experience balancing assembly lines and process improvement.
