GENERAL RESPONSIBIITY:

The Sales & Marketing-Purchasing Coordinator/Cost Analyst will support the Sales & Marketing and Corporate Purchasing Team with a focus on the commercial activities of the Customer & Corporate accounts. Such as various costing activities related to market fluctuations, product changes, and cost scenarios.

The Analyst is responsible to verify the part price invoiced by the supplier to the standard cost in the system, analyze any variance (difference) and ensure the necessary steps are taken to address the Purchase Price Variance (PPV).

One of the key roles of a purchasing analyst is to research the market outlook. Prior to striking deals with vendors and ordering supplies, it’s crucial for an individual to have a thorough understanding of which items.

Knowing the market outlook should help a purchasing analyst make smart business choices and maximize company revenue.

The incumbent may be working on multiple projects at one time.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate costing information between all internal departments
  • Conduct cost impact analysis to engineering changes
  • Conduct cost impact analysis to customer raw material/CRU agreements
  • Conduct cost impact analysis to customer foreign exchange agreements
  • Conduct cost analysis to cost down agreements/proposals
  • Conduct either Plant and/or Customer Gross margin reviews
  • Set up new awarded program, Bom’s and Routings
  • Prepare QIS to Actual analysis utilizing JDE and on shop floor information and take necessary actions
  • Run cost scenarios as directed to establish gauge impact of product changes
  • Conduct daily analysis of data, set up root cause and take necessary actions
  • Prepare necessary related reports and communicate with authorized individual to change part price in system OR communicate with supplier to issue
  • Work closely with designated accounting and purchasing team members
  • Support Sales & Purchasing team with costing, sales and accounting data to support commercial issue resolution or management
  • Support Sales & Purchasing team with internal opportunity trackers
  • Verify/reconcile purchase orders & invoicing
  • Investigate and provide market studies as required
  • Perform duties to job specifications in a safe and responsible manner
  • Maintain work space and environment in a safe and 5S manner.
  • Adhere to ISO/QS9000 & TS16949 procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned by direct Manager

 

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Working towards accounting designation

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 5 years Costing exposure within a manufacturing facility
  • Proficient using Microsoft EXCEL
  • ERP system experience required, JDE preferred.
  • Sales & Marketing experience an asset
  • Purchasing experience an asset
  • Manufacturing experience and asset
